Austrians most friendly

Residents of Austria are the friendliest and most hospitable residents of Europe. This is the result of a European Zoover research among over 17,000 respondents in 23 countries. With almost 13% of the votes the Austrians are the friendliest residents of Europe.

The Spaniards and the Belgians both received over ten percent of the votes and end up as second and third place on the list of most friendly Europeans. Belgians are often described as friendly and quiet. The Greeks end up as fourth with 9.6 percent of the votes. Especially Scandinavians like the Greeks. The Italian and the Dutch follow with over 9 percent of the votes.

While the Austrians are the most friendly, the Swiss are less popular. Swiss are at the bottom of the list of most friendly European inhabitants. The European tourists are also not impressed by the friendliness of the inhabitants of England and France.

The Dutch are quite friendly
The Dutch are doing quite well; they end up on the 6th place with a percentage of over 9%. Despite the sometimes wild image as a tourist and their stubbornness, the Dutch easily adjust and generally speak several languages. The Dutch think they are with 15 percent nearly as friendly as the Austrians (16%). A shared third place is reserved for the Greek and German (both 11%).

We are working on the Applied Research project regarding the visitor experience of the central Switzerland. According to your recent research, swiss hospitality was evaluated not that high. We would like to know criteria which you used, if its possible.

    Best regards, Alexandra
